A plan for a new summer kitchen:
The planning for this summer kitchen began about four months before the project started. Our customers often have busy travel schedules and are not always living in the area locally. We are more than happy to meet with them in the early stages when they are available. Planning the outdoor kitchen projects out well in advance allows us to get a quick start shortly after their closing.
This Taylor Morrison home in the Esplanade had a large lanai but not a ton of wall space. In order to accommodate the outdoor kitchen the homeowner envisioned, we closed in a 5’3” long opening. We then had a stucco company come out to match the façade of the new wall to the existing stucco.
Summer Outdoor Kitchen Details:
This beautiful L-shaped outdoor kitchen is 12’9″ in length. There is a support pillar for the granite countertop on the right-hand side. Both the base and pillar are framed with aluminum and wrapped with a wet weather backer board. The façade along the exposed sides is a stacked stone (Cappadocia).
The countertop and side/backsplash are a level 1 granite (Ornamento). The side splash on the left is 4″ in height. The backsplash is 12″ in height, rising to 36″ for a width of 36″, centered under the hood and behind the grill. The bar top supported by the pillar is 8’10” in length (as measured from the back of the grill cabinet) and it is 1’4″ in-depth on the right side and 2’1″ in depth at the center. The support pillar is positioned so that there is a 10″ overhang on its right side.
There was also a second opening that the builder provides for ventilation in the absence of a vent hood. Since we were adding the vent, we closed in this existing and finished it with a stucco facade.
The following components were installed:
- Under mount sink with high-arc faucet
- Single vertical door (under sink)
