Quail Creek Outdoor Kitchen in Naples, Florida
This Quail Creek outdoor kitchen started with a simple goal. The homeowner was ready to retire the grill cart and enjoy a true outdoor cooking space. So, Elegant Outdoor Kitchens of Southwest Florida designed and built a custom L-shaped kitchen for their lanai in Naples, Florida.
Quail Creek is an established neighborhood in Naples. Like many homeowners there, this customer wanted to get more out of the lanai they already loved.
From Grill Cart to a Quail Creek Outdoor Kitchen
A grill cart works well for quick meals. However, it offers little counter space, storage, or refrigeration. That is why this homeowner decided it was time for an upgrade.
First, we looked at how the family wanted to use the space. Then, we designed a layout that keeps the grill, prep area, refrigerator, and sink within easy reach. In the end, the plan called for an L-shaped cabinet that follows two walls of the lanai.
An L-Shaped Layout With Room to Work
The cabinet measures 7 feet 5 inches along the left wall and 8 feet 8 inches along the right wall. As a result, the cook has plenty of counter space on both sides of the corner.
Grilling and Storage
The heart of the kitchen is a Blaze 32-inch LTE Plus series grill. Below the grill, Blaze 32-inch double access doors open to plenty of storage space.
Next to the grill, a Blaze 16-inch triple drawer keeps tools, towels, and spices organized. In addition, a Blaze narrow roll-out trash storage drawer keeps waste out of sight but close at hand.
Refrigeration and Cleanup
For cold drinks and fresh ingredients, we installed a Blaze 5.5-cubic-foot outdoor-rated refrigerator. A refrigerator trim kit also gives the cutout a clean, finished look.
Meanwhile, an undermount sink with a high-arc faucet makes cleanup easy. Below the sink, a Blaze single vertical access door provides access to the plumbing and extra storage.
A Clean Stucco Finish for This Quail Creek Outdoor Kitchen
Like all of our custom kitchens, we framed this one with powder-coated aluminum. Then, we wrapped the frame with a wet weather backer board. To see this step for yourself, visit our outdoor kitchen under construction page.
After that, we applied a stucco facade with a sand finish. We can create almost any finish a customer wants. Still, the sand finish gives this Quail Creek outdoor kitchen a clean, modern look.
New Caledonia Granite and a Curved Backsplash
For the countertop, the homeowner chose level 1 New Caledonia granite. We also used the same granite for a 4-inch backsplash along the walls.
Behind the grill, however, we created something special. We fabricated a half-circle granite backsplash with an 18-inch radius. It starts 4 inches above the countertop and rises to 22 inches at the center. At the base, it spans 36 inches wide. As a result, the curve frames the grill and adds a true custom touch.
