WCI Community Summer Kitchen Upgrade by Elegant Outdoor Kitchens

This particular project gets classified as an addition of a hood and a backsplash to an existing outdoor kitchen. The Customer had purchased their outdoor kitchen through the builder during the building process. As with most of the big builders, WCI did not offer additional upgrade options for the outdoor kitchen, and no hood was available, although WCI did install the vent stack running through the attic and terminating at the roof. The homeowner contacted us and was looking to add the vent hood as well as an upgrade to a larger backsplash, which would lower the maintenance needed to clean the smoke residue from behind the grill.

For this job, we installed a 36″ Trade-Wind vent hood with 1250 CFM. We also had a custom stainless stack chase fabricated to match the 36″ width of the ventilation hood. The stack chase runs from the top of the ventilation hood up to the ceiling height. The granite backsplash was a level 1 Santa Cecilia Light granite, which was a close match to the existing Crema Pearl (Giallo Fiesta) granite. The new granite backsplash lays out right on top of the existing 4″ granite backsplash. We centered it behind the grill and under the hood. To keep clean lines within the design. The hood, stack chase, and the granite got fabricated at 36″ wide, which runs up to the bottom of the hood at 36″ above counter height. The addition makes maintaining the outdoor kitchen that much easier, which in turn makes it that much more pleasurable of an experience for the homeowner.
