Nestled behind the walls of a beautiful Taylor Morrison Lazio floorplan, this outdoor kitchen is more than a functional space-it’s a statement piece crafted for both culinary adventure and refined relaxation.
Design that Demands Attention – The Lazio Floorplan
This L-shaped outdoor kitchen stretches the full length of the home’s 9’7″ lanai wall, extending 9’3″ outward, creating a spacious and seamless cooking and entertaining area. The layout maximizes functionality while maintaining a sleek, elegant footprint that enhances the home’s architectural flow.
Anchoring the design is a palette of Diana Royal stacked stone along the face of the cabinetry-offering warm, textural richness that harmonizes perfectly with the surrounding Florida landscape. Above the granite, we continued that same stacked stone in a custom backsplash along the 9’7″ wall, extending from the 8″ Ocean Beige granite backsplash all the way to ceiling height-excluding the stainless backsplash and vent hood area-for a dramatic and elevated finish.

At the heart of the kitchen, the Blaze 32″ LTE PLUS Series Grill stands ready for sizzling steaks and weekend get-togethers, paired with a Blaze 24″ griddle plate that expands your culinary repertoire-from breakfast classics to stir-fry delights. A custom 36″ stainless steel 3D backsplash behind the grill complements the high-performance 36″ Tradewind PYRAMID hood, ensuring clean air and clean lines.
Thoughtful touches like the undermount sink with high-arc faucet and integrated soap dispenser add convenience, while storage solutions-including a Blaze 32″ drawer/door combo, 16″ triple drawer, and double rollout trash/recycle unit-ensure everything stays organized and within reach.
To keep refreshments chilled and ingredients fresh, we installed a 24″ Marvel outdoor-rated refrigerator, beautifully finished with a 5.6 OD trim kit to match the cabinetry and elevate the built-in look.
Beauty in the Details
This client chose Ocean Beige granite, a Level 3 selection known for its subtle movement and warm undertones, which ties in seamlessly with the stacked stone. A 10″ straight overhang along the back of the 9’3″ cabinet provides bar-style seating or a staging area for entertaining-perfect for enjoying sunset cocktails or game-day appetizers.
To complete the design with a touch of ambiance, we installed two elegant sconces on either side of the vent hood, adding both functional lighting and a stylish architectural accent.

At Elegant Outdoor Kitchens, we love a good challenge-and this recent L-Shape Outdoor Kitchen addition project in Fort Myers was definitely a first for us! Unlike most of our builds, which are new custom outdoor kitchens, this project involved extending and enhancing an existing outdoor kitchen originally installed by Taylor-Morrison in a Lazio floorplan home. What made it unique? While we typically don’t modify existing cabinetry setups, this wasn’t a standard modification-it was a smart and seamless addition.
The Vision: From Linear to L-Shape Outdoor Kitchen
Our clients already had a built-in outdoor kitchen as part of their home’s original construction. It was functional-but limited. They wanted more space, more style, and more functionality. Rather than starting from scratch, we were able to tie into the existing structure and add a custom 8’0″ cabinet section that beautifully transformed the layout from a simple linear design into a more spacious L-shape configuration.
This transformation not only improved flow and usability-it also added a visual anchor to the outdoor space.
Custom Outdoor Kitchen Features & Finishes
To elevate the aesthetics and functionality, we included a number of high-end features and thoughtful design touches:
Blaze 50 lb. Outdoor Ice Maker – Perfect for Florida entertaining, connected by a licensed plumber to existing water lines.
Custom Stainless Steel Trim Kit – Framed the ice maker for a polished, integrated look.
Condensate Pump – Ensured proper drainage for the new ice maker.
The entire cabinet was finished with a stucco façade, meticulously matched to the pattern of the original outdoor kitchen for a cohesive look.
Structural Enhancements
We took special care in how we tied everything together structurally and aesthetically:
On the 5’6″ section, we enclosed a screen opening, raising it 4″ above counter height and matched it to the depth of the existing block wall. It, too, was finished in matching stucco for a seamless finish.
We removed and replaced the granite on the left side of the grill to fabricate a new, one-piece Uba Tuba granite countertop-eliminating seams for a cleaner, more premium look.
A new 4″ granite backsplash was installed-longer and more unified than the original, stretching across the newly extended section without interruption.
We included a 10″ bartop overhang at the back of the new 8’0″ cabinet, offering a perfect space for casual seating and outdoor dining.
Safety & Professionalism First
Because this project required the temporary removal of the grill, we made sure all reconnections-especially to the natural gas line-were handled by a certified gas contractor. This included a full leak test to ensure everything was safe, secure, and up to code.

We began with an L-shaped configuration:
One side stretching 9’2″ along the home’s rear wall – home to the utility rough-ins
The other extending 8’0″ outward, creating a perfect bar-height countertop and prep space

And don’t forget the drawer/door combo, single vertical door, condensate pump, and refrigerator trim kit – each piece installed with care and purpose.
Stone, Steel, and a Splash of Style
The cabinetry and backsplash feature Silver Travertine stacked stone – a clean, elegant choice that pairs beautifully with the Level 3 Steel Grey granite countertops, cut with a ⅜” roundover edge.
We added an 8″ granite backsplash, and to top it off, the bar top was fabricated on a graceful arc, with a 6″ overhang on the corners and a generous 10″ at center – perfect for pulling up a stool and enjoying a cool drink.

Welcome to this beautifully designed Triumph Outdoor Kitchen, built in the Tide Marsh community by Neal Communities. This project was tailored specifically to the Triumph floorplan, a popular layout that offers a spacious lanai ideal for an upscale outdoor kitchen.
Neal Communities typically provides a partial-height block wall as part of their rough-in packages, which can pose a challenge when installing certain features-especially a vent hood. To solve this, we customized the structure by adding a 40-inch-high wall above the standard partial-height wall, giving the client the flexibility to install a high-performance vent hood without compromising design or function.

Level 4 Supra White Granite CountertopsFeaturing an elegant 8″ backsplash, this high-end granite provides a bright, durable surface that balances beautifully with the natural textures of the stone.
Full-Height Stacked Stone BacksplashAlong the 10’5″ wall, we extended the Diana Royal stone from the top of the granite backsplash all the way to the ceiling, adding visual impact and continuity. This same stone was also installed above the adjacent fireplace, tying the entire outdoor living area together.
L-Shaped Outdoor Kitchen Remodel Design & Layout
We designed a beautiful L-shaped kitchen layout measuring 10’5″ along the rough-in wall and extending 8’1″ outward, perfectly utilizing the corner space while ensuring an efficient workflow between prep, cooking, and cleanup zones. Every element was thoughtfully selected to balance aesthetic appeal with superior performance and durability, tailored to suit Southwest Florida’s climate.
